Fred J. Biri

Fred J. Biri, 90 of Devils Lake ND passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Care Center. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ansgar Cemetery, rural Edmore with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. 

Fred Biri was born in Edmore ND on September 24, 1930, the son of John and Esther Helen (Myhre) Biri.  He was reared and educated in the Edmore area and helped his parents until entering the work force.

In 1948, Fred began a 47 year career as a dedicated, hard-working employee of the North Dakota State Highway Department.  He retired in 1995 as a Technician III. 

Fred made his home in Devils Lake and was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Men’s Club.  He also enjoyed life membership in the ELKS Lodge and belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Lake Region Shrine Club. 

Fred loving cared for his mother until her death in 1989. Fred treasured his brothers and his nieces and nephews. 

Fred is survived by his brother Joseph Biri and several beloved nephews, nieces and their families.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sena Biri and brother Andy Biri.
