Gregory Allen Reiger

Gregory Allen Reiger, 57 of Devils Lake passed away peacefully at Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake in the loving care of his family.

Funeral Services for Gregory will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Father Paul Schuster officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13^th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

 Gregory Allen was born on March 3, 1961 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Betty (Rice) and Michael Reiger Sr.  He was reared and educated in Devils Lake, living his entire life here.  He attended Devils Lake Central. 

At a young age, Gregory started working for Ed Lauinger, erecting grain bins and other construction projects, working there for many years. He then worked construction with Larry Elshaug until health conditions forced him to retire.

Gregory’s passion was music. He played guitar and drums and always looked forward to JAM sessions with friends and family.  He never missed a chance to get together with his cousin Robert Jetty strumming guitars, beating the drums and just having a great time. 

Gregory was the family “comedian” and loved to make people laugh. Always had a joke to share, a story to tell.  Of course his brothers, sister, nieces and nephews meant the world to him.  Whenever he could find the time, he really enjoyed a day of fishing.

Gregory was very special to us and we will miss him so very much.

Gregory is survived by his loving family. His sister Debbie Skavhaug, Devils Lake; brothers Gary (Michelle) Reiger, Devils Lake and Martin Reiger, Iola, TX; seven nephews and nieces Travis (Jennifer) Skavhaug, Lindsey Skavhaug, Derick Germain; Cassie Reiger, Merlyn Knutson, Shelby Reiger, Keshaun Feather; great nieces and great nephews Emily, Bentley, Averie, Silas, Kingston, Tuff, Hensley, Landon David Patricia, Leelyn, Leelah, Merlyn IV and Kezawin; several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael Reiger and a sister in infancy; grandparents Mabel Rice, Joseph and Cecilia Reiger; half-brother Steve Reiger.

Honorary Bearers will be Robert Jetty, Curt Azure, Brian Leben, Steve Crist, Larry Elshaug and Diane Hooey. If we forgot to name anyone it was not intentional.  Gregory loved you all.
