Greg Sager, son of Gene and Beverly and brother to Lonnie, was born on July 5th, 1964 in Devils Lake, ND. He attended Crary School, where he met his loving wife, Marie (Dingman). He was a member of the Crary High School graduating class of 1982. During high school, he attended the VoTech in Devils Lake where he found his passion for mechanics and small engines. He worked for McDouglas during high school and many years after. He spent a few years custom combining with A & Z farms as far south as Texas. He worked for Pepsi for a few years, which is where he found his love for Mountain Dew. Greg was also well known around the Lake Region for Greg’s Small Engine repair where he worked and tinkered on many kinds of toys.

Greg and Marie were high school sweethearts and married at the Crary Lutheran Church on July 24th, 1987. Shortly after, they moved into Marie’s childhood home in Crary. Greg was a loving and devoted father to three children, Trista, Tanner, and Travis.

Greg had many loves and passions outside of his family, many of them including some type of engine and the outdoors. He spent many hours riding snowmobile and four wheeler with his friends and children. Often coming home full of mud and dirt and with many good stories. He also enjoyed being on the lake or the ice. Those tales of fishing always seemed to be a little farfetched, but no one seemed to mind when you saw the smile on his face. He loved to be around the campfire roasting marshmallows and telling tales.

Lakewood Park Bible Camp was held near and dear to Greg’s heart. He volunteered as the “Go Kart Guy” for a number of years where he was the go to guy for any go-kart or golf-cart repair. His assistants, his children, have fond memories of being his helpers in the shop. Greg loved working with all the camp staff and seeing the campers smiling faces while riding on the Go-Kart track.

Greg will be dearly missed by so many but we find comfort in knowing he isn’t suffering anymore and was reunited with many close family members. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 33 years Marie Sager, Crary; his dear children Trista Sager, Grand Forks; Tanner and Autumn Sager, Sisseton, SD; Travis Sager, Crary; his beloved grandson Micah Wiggins-Sager, Sisseton, SD; his loving mother Beverly Sager, Devils Lake; his caring brother Lonnie and Christy Sager, Buxton, ND; his kind niece Courtney Sager, Minot; his cherished Brother-in-law Royal Dingman, Crary; his dear nephew and niece Sean and Lindsay Dingman, New York; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Please feel free to dress casual as there’s nothing he hated more than being in dress clothes.

Pallbearers will be Wade Sharbono, Everrett Rasmussen, Des McIntyre, Tony Restemayer, Wayne Hooey, Lloyd Hoffarth, Rick Schwab, and Jeremy Sandvik. Honorary Pallbearers Robert Dulmage III, all his caregivers and doctors over the years at Heartland, Mercy Hospital, and Altru, Altru Dialysis Nurses, his “limo drivers” at Lake Region and Spirit Lake Ambulance, his many close friends at Heartland Care along with many neighbors in Crary.
