PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN TIME!

There will be visitation for Harry on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio ND beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be in the spring of 2022 at the Dakotah Oyate Cemetery. Reverend Larry Thiele will officiate.

Harry P. LeftBear Jr., 61 of Minneapolis MN formerly of Fargo/Moorhead area and the Spirit Lake Nation. Harry passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina MN.

Harry Paul LeftBear, son of Harry P. and Esther V. (DuMarce) LeftBear Sr. was born on November 25, 1960 at Devils Lake ND.  He grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation and attended Maddock Public School.  He joined the United States Army and proudly served his country. 

After his discharge, Harry would spend most of his years in the Fargo/Moorhead area and for the past several years in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where he lived and worked.  He was very talented at beading and avid reader in his spare time.

Harry was a quiet man, but kept his family very close to his heart and he would visit them any chance he could.  He loved them so very much.

Harry’s loving family include his brothers Solomon LeftBear, Tokio ND and Joel Emery Dobrovolny of Big Lake MN; special nieces and their families, Chrystal LeftBear, Amanda Jerome LeftBear and Raeann LeftBear; aunt Pauline Myrick; many beloved cousins  and those special family and friends that meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandfathers Solomon DuMarce and John LeftBear; cousins Jonah, Miles, Moses and Johnny LeftBear and many dear aunts and uncles.

Casket Bearers will be Austin Smith, Russell Brown Smith, Blaine LeftBear, Lanny LeftBear, Cody Guy and Daniel Redroad. Honorary Bearers will be Harry’s many dear friends and relatives.  The Spirit Lake Drum Group and all other drummers and singers are welcome to share their songs in memory of Harry.

 

There will be visitation for Harry on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio ND beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Reverend Larry Thiele will officiate.
