Howard Gene McDaniel

Howard G. McDaniel, 89 of Devils Lake formerly of Clyde, ND passed away on August 6, 2024 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday evening, August 15, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. 

Howard was born on April 28, 1935, the son of Robert and Lillian (Schrader) McDaniel. Howard was in Clyde, ND where he attended school, playing on the basketball team and graduating from Clyde High School.

He loved the land and farmed his entire life. Even after he moved to Devils Lake, he would continue farming.

Howard is survived by his partner of 43 years Dennis “Dennie” Martin and her granddaughter Elexus, and his niece Leann (Scott) Sizemore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian and his brother Vernon McDaniel.
