Isabelle Bosch

Isabelle Zacher Bosch, 91 of Devils Lake formerly of Minnewaukan ND passed away on Sunday morning, May 17, 2020 at Eventide Devils Lake Care Center. 

Isabelle (Zacher) Bosch, 91, was born December 28, 1928 at Balta, ND, the daughter of Matthew and Barbara (Zimmerman) Zacher. Isabelle was raised and went to school at Balta, ND until the family moved to Minnewaukan, where she finished school.

In 1948 Isabelle married Alvin Bakken and made their home in Devils Lake, ND. They had two children together, Sandra and Eugene.  Isabelle worked at several places in town, but mostly at the Eagles Club as a bartender and waitress for 27 years, which she enjoyed very much.

On February 9, 1980, Isabelle married Val Bosch at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, which she was an active member.

Isabelle had a love for birds and bird watching, especially hummingbirds. Isabelle loved baking cookies for her family and friends and was also an avid reader.

Isabelle’s loving family include her son Eugene and his wife Patty of Devils Lake; five grandchildren, Tara Bakken, Bismarck, ND, Chris Bakken, Warren, MN, Eric Marquez, West Fargo, ND, Coty Bakken, Fargo, Sammi Lovin, Devils Lake, several great grandchildren; stepchildren Terry (Joni) Bosch, MN, Debra (Dale) Sedlezky, MO, Valerie LaRocque, Dunseith, ND, Sandra (Randy) Weishear, TX, Pam (Mark) Anderson, Jamestown, ND and Kathy (Jeff) Miller, Cando, ND; sisters Beatrice (Howard) Quammen, Minot, ND, Diane Raburn, Winters, CA; brother Lawrence (Sharon) Zacher, Bismarck, ND and sister-in-law Betty Zacher, Englewood, OH.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Val, daughter Sandi, grandson Kyle, mother Barbara and father Matthew, brothers Harold and Robert, sister Delores Gibbons and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass and the Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.  Isabelle will be laid to peaceful rest at the Devils Lake Cemetery.  Pease use good judgment regarding your health and safety and social distancing will be practiced.  God Bless You All.
