James B. Toso

James Toso, 65 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.  James Bradley Toso was born in Devils Lake, ND on August 25, 1951 to Orvin and Agnes (Hagen) Toso. Jim was the younger brother of twin Bob.  Jim graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1969 and attended Lake Region Junior College and the University of North Dakota, graduating in 1977. Jim then went to work for a federal program, working with young people to find temporary employment.  He returned to Grand Forks in 1979 and began a long career in the food services industry.  He worked in various positions in restaurants in Grand Forks, Detroit Lakes and Devils Lake.  Ill health forced him to retire in 2013 and he returned to Devils Lake.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dr. Mavis Kelley. He is survived by his brothers Steve Toso, Devils Lake and Bob (Alaine) Toso, Jamestown, ND and brother-in-law Scott Kelley (Char Bergman), Grand Forks as well as nieces Christie Hansen-Engelstad, Grand Forks, Stephanie Hochhalter, Hebron, ND and Jennifer Toso-Kenna, Fargo, ND as well as many cousins.  Memorial Services for Jim will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Reverend Tom Westcott officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
