Jay P. Tabor, “The Milkman” 64 of Devils Lake ND passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his home.

Jay Patrick Tabor, son of Allan and LaVonne (Everson) Tabor was born on May 19, 1958 in Devils Lake ND. Jay would live his entire life in Devils Lake except for 2 years.  He attended Devils Lake Public Schools, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1976.

Jay began working for the North Dakota Parks and Recreation at Fort Ransom, North Dakota. This is where he met his precious Janell Anderson and they were united in marriage on March 29, 1980 in Valley City, ND.  They moved back to Devils Lake where they lived, worked and raised their family.

When they returned to Devils Lake, Jay began a 40 year career with Lakeview Dairy.  He was the “Milkman” for the Lake Region, known and loved by every customer on his route.  Many of the later years, Jay was the delivery man for the commercial entities.

In his younger years, Jay enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always a golfer, and these past few years, Jay has enjoyed many golf outings with his Dad.

If there was an award for all time raffle ticket or girl scout cookie salesman, Jay would win it. He had the gift. Jay was a charter member of the “Hardly Davidson” Cycle Club and enjoyed every minute he was with Hardley and Harley members.  He even participated in a few Devils Lake Motorcycle Rally parades.

Jay was everyone’s friend. He loved to visit with family, friends and strangers. You knew you were special to Jay when you got “pranked”.

Jay’s family meant the world to him, he loved them with all his heart.  His friends were many, but each of you were special to him.

Jay’s loving family include his wife Janell; daughter Tia and her husband Josh Fazekas all of Devils Lake; son Jared Tabor, Fargo ND; granddaughter Bailey Tabor, Moorhead, MN: father Allan Tabor, Devils Lake; siblings Sandi Tabor, Steve (Julie) Tabor all of Bismarck, ND, Lee Ann (Terry) Johnston, also Devils Lake; mother-in-law Beverly Anderson, Valley City ND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bruce (Amy) Anderson, Valley City, Debby (Jim) Crawford, Bismarck and Sara (Rodney) Moore, also Valley City; many nieces, nephews and their families.
