Jeanne P. (Wicken) Eisenzimmer passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at the age of 93.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Jeanne Patricia was born in Devils Lake, ND on September 21, 1931, to Glenna (Thompson) and Arthur Wicken. She was raised in Devils Lake and attended Central High School, graduating with the class of 1950. She worked at the Rexall Drug with the Engebretson Twins and then at the Firestone Store.

Jeanne was united in marriage to Raymond P. Eisenzimmer on May 29, 1951, at Camp Rucker, Alabama. After Ray’s discharge from the Army, they made their home in Devils Lake and Camp Grafton. Jeanne made many friends living at Eventide Heartland Court for the 11 years since the passing of her husband Ray.

Jeanne was an avid reader and loved gardening and yard work. She always had flower gardens at Camp Grafton, at their Devils Lake home and even at Eventide. She enjoyed baking, and whenever any of her family visited, she always had their favorite treat or baked goods on hand. This also applied to her friends in Building 1 at Eventide. Jeanne was an avid UND Sioux Hockey fan.

Jeanne was a wife, mother, and homemaker first and foremost. But she worked for a brief time at Camp Grafton. She genuinely loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at their special place when living at Camp Grafton. Love was always around us. She will be remembered as a kind, strong and generous woman. She was always lending a helping hand to others. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.

Jeanne joined the Catholic Church in 1948 and was active in St. Joseph Church, the Forresters’s, also St. Joseph and St. Mary’s School’s Mother clubs and a devoted member of Infant of Prague Circle.

Jeanne is survived by her loving family. Her children Terry Eisenzimmer, Devils Lake, Conne (Kelly) Kitsch, Jamestown ND, David (Paula) Eisenzimmer, also Devils Lake, Patty (Mark) Young, Grand Forks ND and Sandy (Jeff) Foss, Harwood, ND; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law Jack (Sue) Eisenzimmer, Grand Forks and sister-in-law Virginia Eisenzimmer, Devils Lake; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray on November 19, 2013, son Howard, daughter-in-law Kathy Eisenzimmer, brother Kenneth Wicken and her parents.

Casket Bearers will be her grandsons Jeff Eisenzimmer, Tim Eisenzimmer, Kasey Kitsch, Alex Kitsch, Jeremy Eisenzimmer, Jason Eisenzimmer, Shawn Eisenzimmer, Daryn Eisenzimmer, Mike Young, Aaron Young, and Dylan Foss.

Gift Bearers will be her granddaughters Megan (Kitsch) Wahl, Lindsey Young, Samantha (Foss) Macomber and Morgan Foss.
