Kandice M. Wentz

Kandice M. Wentz, 35 of Devils Lake passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND with loving family at her side. 

Funeral Services for Kandice will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with Shirley Hooey officiating.

Kandice Marie, daughter of David A. Crull and Betty Compton was born on January 15, 1985 at Brunswick, Georgia. She lived in Brunswick for a time, then moved with the family to California.  She received some of her education there, then in 1996 the family moved to Devils Lake.  She attended Devils Lake High School and with great determination and perseverance received her GED in 2004.  She continued her education at Lake Region Junior College.  While in high school she participated in JROTC.

Kandice was at one time married to Christopher D. Wentz and they were the proud parents of Christopher J. and Malika A. Wentz. They made their home in Devils Lake and Kandice worked a variety of jobs including working as a DJ at Cell Block.  Kandice treasured most spending time with her family. She enjoyed time at the lake, playing games and cards with her kids, family barbeques and driving around the countryside-“Jamming”.   

Kandice was a fighter and battled health problems for many years. She was so thankful for the love and support of her family with each new challenge she faced.  She has left us much too soon and we can’t imagine life without her.  May our memories of Kandice sustain us. 

Kandice is survived by her children Christopher and Malika Wentz of Grand Forks; her mother Betty Compton, Devils Lake; sister Michelle (Lane) Galow and Kandice’s nieces Celia, Taylor and Kaylee Galow all of Devils Lake; other precious nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Crull and uncle James Compton.
