Kelly R. Stone "Cante Waste Nape Wasaka"
Kelly Robert Stone was born on November 6, 1966 to Cynthia Stone and Francis “Frenchy” Brown in St. Paul, MN. He entered the Spirit World on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with loving family at his side.
The Wake for Kelly will be at St. Michael’s Recreation Center on Friday, March 6, 2020 beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday from City Plaza.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Kelly was a very loving father, husband, grandpa, brother and uncle. He liked to work on cars, play basketball in his younger years and watch football. His favorite team was the Minnesota Vikings. He was a single father who raised his two loving daughters, Cynthia Demarrias and Alyssa “AJ” Demarrias and most recently was raising two grandsons, Anthony Kelly Demarrias and Julian Davis.
Kelly worked various jobs throughout his life at different Casinos. He was a roofer in his younger years and most recently was a slot tech at Spirit Lake Casino and a driver for the Spirit Lake Tribal Health Department.
Kelly devoted his time to family and friends. He loved traveling to different Casinos and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades and if anything was broken, he would fix it.
Kelly will be very missed by all whose hearts he touched.
Kelly is survived by his father, Francis “Frenchy” Brown; his loving wife Clarice “Maggie” Jones; daughters Cynthia Demarrias and Alyssa “AJ” Demarrias; adopted daughter Kristy White; step children who loved him very much-Trevor Jones, Ira Jones, Simone Jones and Simona White; grandchildren Zayne R. Demarrias, Anthony Demarrias, Wiyaka His Chase, Wakinya His Chase, Thea Maurice, Saige Love Jones, Layla Leigh Jones, Callie Jones, Elionna Jones and Julian Davis; brothers Michael Stone (Darlene), Charles Stone (Violet) and Jason Brown; sisters Lynette Stone and Collette Brown (Jason Thompson) and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved very much and god father Jack Bugg.
He was preceded in death by his mother Cynthia Stone, uncle John, brothers Eric John Stone and Steven Stone.
Active Pallbearers: Donovan Stone, Jordan Stone, Johnathan Stone, Michael Stone Jr., Wyatt Jetty, Chaz Stone, Steven Stone, Darion Stone, Trevor Jones and Ira Jones. Honorary Bearers are Darren Yankton, Reggie BlackHawk, Colton Anderson, Greg Feather, Diane Jackson, Porfirio Diaz Jr., the Jones family, the BlackHawk family, Joy GoodIron family, Rosa and Sara Beans, Spirit Lake Casino Slot Department, Clara Brown family, Kimmy Cavanaugh family, Archie and Marilyn Bear Cub, Michael McDonald, Cora Whiteman, Rob His Chase, Betty Bugg and family, Yvonne Thompson, Irene Diaz, Tracy and Trevor St. John, Roger Jetty, Amanda Smith, Stacy Green, Ross Green, Chico Diaz, Augustine and Joseph Garcia and family. Kelly touched the hearts of many and if we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
