Kimberly Ann, one of the triplets born on July 30, 1983 in Grand Forks, ND to Paul and Alice (Bachmeier) Winnegge.  She grew up in Devils Lake, attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 2001.  In high school she was in Student Council, participated in Speech and Drama, and was active in the Fort Totten Little Theater. Kim spent many hours at the Liquid Bean with friends.

Kim continued her education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.  At the time of her death, she was the Director of Social Services at Crest View Senior Communities in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.

Fun, loving, creative, an old soul, intelligent, and stubborn are all words that describe Kim. She made people better. Her life and friendship were a gift to all she knew and loved. Knowing her made us better, kinder, more welcoming people. She brought light and love into the world and that light will never fade away.

Kim loved new adventures and places, but always called North Dakota home.  She was an avid reader, loved cooking, trying new recipes, poetry, the arts, journaling and her favorite time was being with her dear friends.   Kim always looked forward to family get togethers and activities. Her faithful feline companion, “Eleanor Rose” was very special to her. Kim loves her friends and family fiercely and will be missed by all.

Kim loved her family, her friends and her Catholic faith. She knew her Lord and Savior and trusted in His promises.  Our dear sweet daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend has left us too soon.  God will keep her in His care and we will keep her in our hearts.

Kim is survived by her Mom, Alice; “wombmates” Paul (Kristin) Winnegge, Devils Lake and Tammy (Pete) Czapiewski, Bismarck, ND; 2 nieces and 2 nephews Jada and Karter Winnegge and Dylan and Jordyn Czapiewski; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her Dad, Paul; niece Addison Czapiewski; grandparents Paul W. and Evelyn Winnegge and Milton and Annie Bachmeier.

The family asks that those in attendance at the funeral wear bright colors, as Kim would have loved that.

Special friend, Mitch Marr, along with several of Kim’s friends will be doing a celebration of her life in L.A. at a later date. Her coworkers will also be celebrating Kim’s life at a service.

Gift bearers will be Kim’s neices and nephews, as well as her sister, Tammy.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Kollman, Jesse Jensen, Leann Ohlson, Marcy Tweet, and Josh Boschee. Any of Kim’s friends will be invited to help honor her life by helping with the casket or just walking alongside. Please know that you all held a very special place in Kim’s heart.
