Larry A. Tostenson, 59 of Devils Lake, ND passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND with loving family at his side. Larry Allan, son of Gordon and Shirley (Malmedal) Tostenson was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1958 in Devils Lake, ND where he grew up and was educated. He graduated from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1976. He continued his education at the Wahpeton State School of Science receiving certification as a welder. Larry returned to Devils Lake and would call Devils Lake home the rest of his life. He worked with a variety of construction companies in the Lake Region area for several years. As a Master Plumber he was employed with Hasse Plumbing until they closed and then he was the owner and operator of Lake Region Plumbing. Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved the outdoors. He was a hockey fan and enjoyed watching the game whenever he could. Larry was a precious son, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. He treasured all the special family events and get togethers with friends. Larry’s loving family include his parents Gordon and Shirley of Devils Lake; sister Kathy and her husband Jeff Eback of Ham Lake, MN and nieces Tara (Ryan) LeClair and Tonia (Brent) Rice of Blaine, MN; great niece Lily LeClair and great nephew Mason Rice and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fred and Verda Malmedal and Carl and Amelia Tostenson; uncle Orville Tostenson. Funeral Services for Larry will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Gathering of family and friends will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
