Loa G. Roman, 72 of Devils Lake formerly of Egeland ND passed away on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022 in the loving care of her family.
Loa Gayle Rinas was born on August 1, 1949 in Cando ND, the daughter of Arthur and Phyllis J. (Ellefson) Rinas. She was reared on the family farm and educated in Egeland, graduating from Egeland High School. She continued her education at Lake Region State College and Mayville State College in North Dakota. She then worked in Washington DC in the nursing field. After a move to Helena, Montana, Loa began her career as secretary to the Immigration and Naturalization Services of Montana.
Loa retired and returned to North Dakota to be closer to family and to help care for her aging parents.
She was a dedicated employee, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her family with all her heart.
Loa is survived by her son Destry Holt and his wife Misty and her children Lily and Eva; grandchildren Stosh Roman, Ryker Roman and Loowindy Roman; siblings Mike (Colleen) Rinas, Mandan ND, Mary Lu (Steve) Height, Ponte Verde Beach FL and Brad (Connie) Rinas also of Mandan; sister-in-law Lorelei (Mike) Rinas-Britain of Bismarck ND, brother-in-law Mike Roman, several beloved nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter-in-law Russell and Becky Roman, brother Gilbert Arthur Rinas.
