Funeral Services for Lois will be on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Lois Linde Isakson, 97 of Mesa, AZ passed away on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Assisted Living Center in Mesa.
Lois Maetzold Linde Isakson was born to Maynard and Mabel (Halgren) Maetzold on July 23, 1926, in Ontario Township, Ramsey County, ND.
She attended Ontario Township school and graduated from Crary High School. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, then graduated from Valley City State University. She taught in high schools in North Dakota and California.
She married Percy Linde, and they farmed in the Churchs Ferry area. They later operated the John Deere Implement Dealership in Leeds, ND. After moving to Minnesota, they operated the Red Lake Store while living in Red Lake. When the store was sold they moved to Bemidji where Percy owned and operated a trucking business. They returned to Devils Lake and operated the Dakota Trading Post at Fort Totten. Percy died on January 23, 1980.
Lois later married Earl B. “Ike” Isakson and the spent their summers on Creel Bay and the winters in Mesa, AZ. Earl died on June 1, 2022.
During her life, Lois taught Sunday School, was on the National WELCA committee, served on the Board of Trustees and was very involved in all the events and projects of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She was a Cub Scout leader, 4-H leader, Rainbow Mother advisor, member and state officer of the Eastern Star and a State Rainbow Mom. Lois was continually active as a member of the American Association of University Woman, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Devils Lake Music Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Pioneer Daughters. She was always willing to lend a helping hand on any committee, church project, and community event.
Lois loved her Lord, her family, her dear friends and her communities in Devils Lake and Mesa, where she connected with old friends and made new ones. Lois loved traveling, dancing, and hosting extravagant parties.
Lois is survived by her loving family. Her children Clark Linde and his wife Connie, Devils Lake, Lisa Linde, Queen Creek, AZ and Laurel “Lori” (Linde) and her husband Scott Pickard of Florence, AZ; grandchildren Jace (Morgan) Nybo, Mesa AZ and Bryce (Addie) Nybo, Jamestown ND, Christopher (Lindsey) Pickard, Whitefish MT, Nicholas (Robin) Pickard, St. Louis Park, MN and Danielle (Nate) Borchardt, West Fargo ND; Ike’s family include his son Eric Isakson; grandchildren Christopher (Jayme) Isakson, Fargo ND, Leah (Isakson) (Jake) Znidarsick, Madison WI, Aaron Isakson, Grand Forks, ND, Adam (Mary Jane) Isakson, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Amy (Isakson) (Marc) Stennes also of Grand Forks; several great grandchildren and numerous Maetzold, Halgren, and Linde family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Maynard, husbands Percy Linde and Ike Isakson, son Todd Linde, stepson Peter Isakson, brothers Arthur Maetzold, James Maetzold and Glenn Maetzold.
