Lyle A. Nelson

Lyle A. Nelson, 83 of Devils Lake ND passed away n Friday, December 29, 2023 at his home.

A Graveside Service for Lyle will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Devils Lake Cemetery.

Lyle Anthony Nelson, son of Lyle S. and Elizabeth "Beth" Nelson was born on May 21, 1940 at Devils Lake. He grew up in Devils Lake and graduated Central High School. He continued his education in Washington State and was certified as an Electronic Engineer.  Lyle earned his pilot's license with the flight instructor, Dan Wakefield Sr.  He was then a bush pilot in Alaska for many years.  In 1986, Lyle returned to Devils Lake and made it his home until his passing.

Lyle is survived by his son Todd Nelson, Devils Lake; grandchildren Austin Nelson and Arieal (Alex) Weise and great grandson Raydon. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Phillip Nelson and Mark Nelson and sister Peggy Wagner.
