Madelyn Rose Frison, daughter of Nicholas and Rosella (Humble) Frison was born on August 10, 1937 in Devils Lake. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and it is no surprise that she held the title as the 1st Homecoming Queen at St. Mary’s.
Madelyn married her high school sweetheart, Casper Kurtz Jr. on April 25, 1956. They established their home in Devils Lake and would call it home their entire lives. They soon began a family and were the proud parents of 5 children.
Madelyn always put family first, but did enjoy working for many years at the Coast to Coast Store. She had such a sense of style and taste and was such an asset to the customers she served at the Fashion Boutique. Madelyn retired from K-Mart after working there for several years.
Madelyn enjoyed several hobbies including golf, women’s league bowling and playing bridge. She loved listening to music, and any chance they had, she and Cass were on the dance floor, dancing the night away. They were also known to have some of the best Halloween costumes at any party. But following the activities of their children and grandkids brought them the greatest joy.
Madelyn had a quiet presence, but she loved, she lived, she laughed with all her heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and treasured her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and her dear in-laws. Rest in peace.
