Manuel Edward “Cekpa” (Twin) Littlewind Sr., 62 of Fort Totten, ND began his journey to the Spirit World on Friday, August 2, 2019 at his home.
The Wake for Manuel will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. from the former Wally’s parking lot.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with Father Charles Leute, OP officiating. Final Review will be held at 9:00 a.m. Manuel will be laid to rest at St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Manuel Edward Littlewind and his twin brother Maynard were born on May 18, 1957 to Lawrence Littlewind Sr. and Cora Rose Sherman. He attended grade school in Fort Totten and high school at Maddock. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing basketball and riding horses in his free time. Manuel worked at CHR for many years and most recently at the Spirit Lake Casino.
Manuel is remembered for his friendly manner. He was always visiting and joking around with everyone. He enjoyed being at the Casino playing machines or BINGO, and also hanging with his buddies on his days off. The light of his life were his children and grandchildren.
Manuel is survived by his loving family. His mother Cora Rose Sherman; his children Anthony “Puckie” Littlewind, Jason Littlewind and Melissa Desjarlais; grandchildren Isaac, D’Angelo, Trina, Tayonna, Izlee, Sophia, Jordon Jr., Madison, Cianna, Deandre, Kobe and Lee; great grandchildren Isaac Jr., Adam, Angelita and GioVanni; sisters Marcella Green, Bernadine Littlewind, Trudy Iceman, Arliss Krulish and Arlene Krulish; brothers Delmer Iceman, Darren Iceman and Raynard Iceman; special friend Yvonne Georgeson.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Littlewind Sr.; son Manuel Littlewind Jr.; brothers twin brother Maynard Littlewind, Lawrence Littlewind Jr., Delvin Littlewind and Stacy Littlewind; paternal grandparents Joseph and Martha Littlewind; maternal grandparents Benedict and Rosalie Sherman.
Pallbearers for Manuel will be Anthony Littlewind, Jason Littlewind, Sam Merrick Sr., Jake Redfox, Randall de la Paz and Fred Longie Jr.
