Marilyn Mirie Hanson

Marilyn Mirie Meade - Hanson, our beloved daughter, mom, sister, aunt, cousin, grandma, and great grandma passed onto the Spirit World early Wednesday morning, April 16th, 2025 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck ND in the loving care of family after a long battle of lung cancer. She was 70 years old.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Greg Haas, Travis Guy, Barris Guy, Taylor Guy, Devon Bergstrom, Casey Stewart, and Eljay Stewart. Honorary Bearers will be all of Marilyn’s close relatives and the kids Marilyn has helped in some way.

Marilyn Mirie, daughter of Rita DeMarce and Benedict Meade was born October 8th, 1954 in Moorhead, MN. She lived in Detroit lakes, MN for 17 years, Lake Park, MN. White Earth, MN. Strawberry Lake, MN, then eventually made her way towards Bismarck, ND. She had lived in Bismarck for 30 some years before passing on.

She loved spending time with her great grand children and going to thrift stores. Watching her Monkey videos on YouTube, “Family Feud” on cable, along with the news, “Spin the Wheel” and “Two Broke Girls”.

Marilyn was smart, wise, strong, and kind. Marilyn’s life has touched so many lives in so many different ways and we can’t imagine our lives without her.

Her caring heart, nurturing figure, sweet soul, her beautiful long curly hair, her laugh and her smile will be in our memories and hearts forever.

Marilyn is survived by her sister Arlene Neer. Her daughters, Lisa Guy and Janelle Guy (Greg Haas). Her sons, Anthony Greene, Travis (Angelique) Guy and Barris Guy. Her Granddaughters, Sabrina Guy, Charlene Stewart, Jessica Guy and Kya DeWall. Her Grandsons, Taylor Guy, Devon Bergstrom, Casey Stewart and Eljay Stewart. Her Great Grandsons, Aries Guy, Bryant Tikanye, Carson Tikanye, Chayton Clairmont and Taylor Guy jr. Her Great Granddaughters, Aria Tikanye and Ayana Tikanye. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Marilyn is proceeded in death by her parents, Rita DeMarce and Benedict Meade. Her sisters, Barb Meade, Jennifer Catherine Meade Piro and Yvonne Guy. Her son, Daniel Greene. Her brother, George. Her nephew, Richard Neer. Her Granddaughter, Brandi Stewart. Her Grandson, Terel Guy and other relatives.

If we have forgotten to name anyone, we are deeply sorry and please forgive us as we are doing our best we can at this difficult time.

The Wake for Marilyn will be on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Tekakawitha Center, St. Michael ND beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass.

Marilyn will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
