Marsha English

Marsha Ann English, 73 of North Minneapolis, Minnesota began her journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her home in the loving care of her family.

An all night Wake will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Time of Prayer and Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. from the City Plaza, Devils Lake.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, Crowhill, ND at a later date.

Marsha was born on February 8, 1950 to Herbert Jerome Hunt Sr. and Lilly Marie Lohnes in Devils Lake ND. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1962. She attended Vocational High School where she met the love of her life Lee English. They were married in 1968 and raised four children in North Minneapolis. Marsha and Lee were married for 49 years until Lee’s passing in 2017.

Marsha worked in the folding carton industry as a machine operator for 35 years until she retired.

Marsha and Lee always looked forward to taking their family on vacation to North Dakota and Red Lake to visit all the family. They loved visiting, having a few, with a lot of laughs and great memories.

Marsha was a hard worker all of her life. When you were around her, you were a hard worker too. Marsha was honest to a fault, but always meant well. She just wanted the best for everyone. Marsha was very loving, cared so much and would do anything for her children and grandchildren.

She loved watching documentaries on true crime. Her favorites were “Unsolved Mysteries” and “Life Below Zero.” She liked doing crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, taking care of her plants and going shopping.

Marsha is survived by her son Nick English; daughters Tasha (Stash) Hanks and Tina English; grandchildren Lynsey (Andre), Sheldon, Skylar, Sophia, Carlos, and Baby Lee English; great grandchildren Alexis, AJ, Leeyah, Bezh; sisters Myra Hunt and Cheryl Hunt; brother Herbert Hunt Jr.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Lilly, husband Lee Wayne English on October 29, 2017, son Lee Wayne English Jr. on June 27, 2022, brothers Ron Hunt, Don Hunt, Ken Hunt, nephew Dwight “Wicha” Hunt and niece Krystal Robertson. 

Pallbearers for Marsha will be Stash Hanks, Sheldon English, Skylar English, Ron Hunt Jr., Rusty Hunt, Delwyn English, Allen English Sr. and Allen English Jr.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Myra Hunt, Cheryl Hunt, Deanna Lufkins, Jackie Hunt, Ashley Hunt, Carol English-Hunt, Rosie Barrett, Delores English, Johanna Hunt, Samantha Hunt and all of her many dear relatives and friends she loved so much.
