Marty P. Robertson, 61 of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Marty Paul Robertson was born on April 28, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents are the late Emerson and Lorraine (Lambert) Robertson. Marty went to school at Little Big Horn High School and graduated in 1977. He furthered his education at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake and then attended the Le Cordon Bleu College in Minnesota. Marty worked at Spirit Lake Casino as a Cage manager for over 10 years. He also was a seasonal census bureau worker and was employed at Dakota Tribal Industries as a shift supervisor. At the present time, Marty worked at Sioux Manufacturing as a Security Officer. His partner in life was Loucia Meade and they were the proud parents of Julia, Logan and Lucas. He also helped raise his step children Melanie, Ashley, Jared and Jeremy Meade. He also raised Julian and Kale, they were his special grandsons. Marty was an avid sports fan and a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls and the White Sox. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, a good game of chess and exercising frequently. He liked to cook many different recipes, sharing his creations and visiting family and friends whenever he had the time. He was preceded in death by his parents Lorraine and Emerson; sisters Julie Robertson and Delia Romona; nephew Johnny Robertson and uncles Mark Lambert and Charles Lambert. Marty his survived by his loving family. His three children Julia, Logan and Lucas Robertson; brothers Burton, Jeremiah, Matthew and John Robertson; sisters Roberta Smith, Jean Robertson and Laura Robertson; step children Melanie, Ashley, Jared and Jeremy Meade; his grandchildren Julia and Kale DeMarce, Chael, Malik, Lorraine, Lamira Keo and Jaymus Robertson, step grandchild Saree Meade and goddaughter Camey Dubois. Active Pallbearers are Logan Robertson, Lucas Robertson, BJ Robertson, Gary Smith, Emerson Smith, Nicholas Touche, Jared Meade and Jordan Azure. Honorary Bearers for Marty are the SMC Employees, Dallas Littlewind, Jeff Lenoir and family, Bruce Mindt and family, Larry “Big John”, Elmer Two Crow, Louis and Yvonne “Hopsty” Dubois, Dave Robertson, Todd LeBeau, John Posey, Sam Cloud, Dennis Keo, Clint Keo, Andy DeMarce and family, Kelly Brown and Bruce Armstrong. Visitation for Marty will be held at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten will be held on Friday, September 29th from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary, Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Friday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Marty will be laid to rest in St. Jerome’s Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
