Mary Beth Armentrout, 94 of Devils Lake, passed away at Eventide Heartland Care Center on Friday, April 3, 2020.

Mary Beth was born on May 10, 1925 to John and Agnes (Connor) Kitsch. She grew up on the family farm east of Garske, ND.  Mary Beth attended school at Garske, high school at Webster and St. Mary’s Academy.  She then attended Valley City Teacher’s College and then the University of North Dakota.  Mary Beth graduated from the University of North Dakota, Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree.  She continued her post graduate education at the University of Montana – Missoula.  Mary Beth then taught at Fairdale, ND, Glasgow and Browning, MT.

Mary Beth was at one time married to Robert Woll. She then married Darrell C. Armentrout on May 11, 1950. Darrell passed away on June 27, 1980.  She then moved back to Devils Lake, ND, where she resided until her death.

She traveled extensively throughout her life, traveling to Europe, Mexico and Canada. Mary Beth and Darrell had many adventures hunting and fishing in Canada and Montana.

Mary Beth is survived by her son Michael Armentrout and his wife Michelle of Portland, OR and granddaughters Molly and Megan Armentrout, also of Portland, OR, and sister-in-law Bernie Kitsch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrel, son Dr. John Armentrout, M.D., sister Audrey Engelhart, brothers Duane, Tom, Jerome and Neil Kitsch.

Honorary Casket Bearers for Mary Beth will be Dennis Kitsch, Donovan Kitsch, Joe Kitsch, Mark Kitsch, John Broden and Curtis Broden.

Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, Mass of Christian Burial and interment in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery will be held at a later date. Please keep Mary Beth and the family in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
