Mary (Redfox) Tollefson

Remembering the beautiful life of Mary Gertrude (Redfox) Tollefson, “Tate Mahed Mani” (Walking In The Wind) who was born on September 2, 1978 and began her journey home to Heaven on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital.

A Wake will be held at the Bdecan Presbyterian Church, rural Tokio ND on Thursday, March 7, 2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a time of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Bdecan will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from City Plaza.

The Funeral Service for Mary will be on Friday, March 8^th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Young officiating. Burial at the Tollefson Family Ranch Cemetery, rural St. Michael ND beside her daughter Hailey Pearl.

Mary Gertrude was born in New Rockford, ND on September 2, 1978. She grew up with her mother Alberta Redfox and Douglas “Chuck” Longie who she took as her Dad. She was raised in the Woodlake area most of her life. Growing up Mary spent a lot of time with her brothers (Redfox Boys), where she then met the love of her life, John Tollefson II. They married in the year of 1996, December 13^th. They knew they wanted to start a family and were the proud parents of Felicity, Hailey, John III, Sydney, Shelby, McKinley, and Kinsley.

She enjoyed going on family trips, bringing her children and grandchildren any where to have fun. Mary loved cooking and baking. Her favorite was making homemade pizza and spaghetti. She loved jamming out; her favorite music was old classic rock and she absolutely loved George Strait.  

Mary spent everyday with her kids and grandbabies. She would always try her hardest for them. She loved making dresses for her daughters and quilting.

Our hearts hurt, but we know she is in a better place with her late daughter Hailey Pearl.

Mary’s loving family left to grieve her death. Her husband John Tollefson II; daughters Felicity, Sydney, Shelby, Kinsley, and McKinley and her only son John III; mother Alberta Redfox; father Chuck Longie; siblings and their precious families, Steven Redfox Sr., Clarence Longie, Wade Longie, Damian Greene, Amy HolyWing  and girls and Jodie Longie (Brian Morken); aunts Sharon Georgeson, Geraldine Redfox, Bonnie Leftbear, and Mona Leftbear; uncles Louie Garcia and Clarence Leftbear Sr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law John and Marva Tollefson; very special niece Brooke Redfox; grandchildren Durrani, Milah, King, Tearza, Carter Jo, Aspen, Andreza, JoLynn, Logan, Tobias, Quinn, Ariya, Jarrod Jr., Ryder, Jax, Dominic, Josiah, Gabby and Jayasha; godchildren Seth Dumarce and Tashina Redfox, and many, many dear cousins

She follows to the Spirit World: her daughter Hailey Pearl; nieces April Dawn Tollefson and Genesis Azure; nephews Drew Longie, Jonathan Tikayne Jr., Cleveland Ironheart, Michael Meade, Trevor McDonald and Jeff Leftbear; cousins Jeremy Redfox, Klo Lyn Redfox, Archie Adam, Marion Redfox, Michaelle Redfox (Pretty Girl) Jolene Littlewind, and Jonathan Tikayne Sr.; aunties and uncles Hilda Garcia, Joan Redfox, Annie Redfox, Kay Redfox, CoCo Redfox, Archie Redfox Sr. and Melvin Gene Paul; maternal father Willard Leftbear.
