Michelle Rae Sharbono

Michelle Rae Sharbono, of rural Devils Lake ND passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND surrounded by loving family and friends.

There will be a visitation on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Service for Michelle will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Gilbertson Funeral Home with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.

Michelle Rae Sharbono was born on July 26, 1968 to Virgil and Marvelene (Rudolph) Carlson in Seattle Washington. At a young age her family moved to Devils Lake where she attended Devils Lake Public schools.

Michelle met Wade Sharbono at a young age and they were united in marriage on June 18th, 1989 in rural Devils Lake at the St Olaf’s Retreat Center.

In 2002, she had her first son Coltin and in 2008 her second son Cameron. She was very close to her boys who were the lights of her life. She loved going on trips and adventures with her boys. She spent a lot of time with them making memories they will always cherish.

Michelle had many gifted talents. She loved to paint rocks, make jewelry, refinish old furniture and paint designs on fingernails.

Her favorite place was being outside in the sun. She enjoyed riding her golf cart around the farm in the fresh air. She always had a garden and planted flowers in the spring. In the evenings she enjoyed relaxing by a campfire making delicious meals for her family or just enjoying time with family and friends.

Michelle had a unique collection of figurine turtles which she displayed on the dash of her vehicle. She also loved her house plants and adored all animals and nature.

Anytime a friend was having a baby or grandchild she would crochet a baby blanket for them.

Michelle wanted to thank her special long time friend Ronnette Orness and her family for being there for her the past year and a half and being with her at her appointments or just to shop and talk.

Michelle is survived by her children Coltin and Cameron, her brother Joel (Janice) Carlson, husband Wade, her mother-in-law Grace Sharbono, brother-in-law Dean Sharbono, sister-in-law Beth Zahn, her nephews Justin Sandberg, Kevin Carlson, Devon Carlson, Brandon Zahn, Cody Zahn, Zander Zahn, aunts, uncles, cousins, cherished friends Ronnette Orness, Lori Voeller and her beloved pets Keno and puppy Oakley.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Angel, her parents Virgil and Marvelene and father-in-law Wes Sharbono.

Casket Bearers will be Coltin Sharbono, Cameron Sharbono, Justin Sandberg, Jamie Orness, Tim Voeller and Tristyn Metcalf.
