Miles Lee Thompson Sr., 49 of Minneapolis MN formerly of Fort Totten ND passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at his home.
A Wake will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Crow Hill Recreation Center, rural Fort Totten. Funeral Services will be on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Recreation Center with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating. The procession to Crow Hill will leave at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday from City Plaza. Burial will be in St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery.
Miles Lee Thompson was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1972 at Devils Lake ND, the son of Moses and Vivian (Shaw) Thompson. He grew up in the Fort Totten area, attending school at Four Winds, then Sheyenne Public School.
He worked a variety of jobs including several years at DTI, area road construction, in the dietary department at Four Winds Elementary and also at Denny’s in Grand Forks. Miles knew his precious Robin Redroad since they were twelve years old. They grew up together, experienced so many good times and bad times together and were united in marriage on December 3, 2001. They have made their home in Minneapolis for the past fourteen years.
Miles made many beautiful creations doing bead work, working with feathers and also wood working. He lovingly shared those creations with family and friends.
Miles loved his family with all his heart, treasured his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews with all his heart.
Miles loving family include his wife Robin; children Natasha St. John, twins Morgan Thompson and Mason Thompson Sr., and Miles (Shalyn) Thompson Jr.; grandchildren Mason Jr., Royal, Massiana and Massceo Thompson, Linda Lou Redroad and Aii’jah St. John; brother Russell Brown; sisters Cynthia BlackLance, and Rhea Smith; special aunts Ardis Shaw and Ila McKay; special uncle Vincent Shaw many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Emily Redroad, and sisters Dora Shaw, Carrie Price and Carmen Price and his dear grandparents.
Pallbearers for Miles will be Marshall BlackLance II, Barrett Mudgett Sr., Arlin BlackLance, James “Jumbo” Thompson Jr., Robert Redroad SR., Blaine Leftbear Sr. and Whalen “Bud” Shaw.
Honorary Bearers will be Miles family, relatives and friends. He loved you all.
