Nathan (Punky) B. Dogskin (Wolf Necklace) Jr.

Nathan B. Dogskin (Wolf Necklace) Jr., “Punky”, 45 of Standing Rock, ND died on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Nathan was born on April 22, 1972 at Bismarck, ND, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan B. Dogskin Sr. and JoAnne L. (Marks) Dogskin. He was the only beloved son who now joins them in peace.  He is also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Mary Louise (Brown) Diaz; uncle James F. Diaz; paternal grandparents Ben and Margaret Wolf Necklace; uncles Freeland Wolf Necklace and Albert Wolf Necklace; aunts Verna Wolf Necklace and Francine Wolf Necklace.  Nathan was blessed to have Nicole Olson as a special friend in his life. Together they blessed our family with two daughters, Dakotah and Destiny.  He is survived by his daughters and numerous family members.  Nathan received his GED from Duluth High School in Duluth, MN. He also received job training at a Job Corps in Salt Lake City, Utah and participated in carpentry classes at the Cankdeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten.  Nathan celebrated life through his artistic expression. His artwork has been shared with many friends, relatives and family. Many of his drawings have been converted to tattoo form by his friends.  His artwork has been a gift to all who have known him.  Nathan was a true nomad. He loved travelling and spending time with relatives and friends.  He always tried his best to bring happiness where ever he went.  Although his was never a rich man, he always shared whatever gifts he was given. The family would like to thank Father Chuck, Gilbertson Funeral Home, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe, Crow Hill District Representative Douglas Yankton, Spirit Lake Casino and Resort and all friends and relatives and those who will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers. A Wake for Nathan will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with Father Charles Leute officiating.  Active Pallbearers will be Jason Azure, Evan LoneChild, Chad Keo, Steve Stone, Brian Alberts and Frank “Pudgey” Gourd. Honorary Bearers will be Francis “Frenchie” Brown, Robert Old Rock, Ben Wolf Necklace, Dawn Silbernagle, Raymond Mallard, Felix Wolf Necklace, Patty Mintz, Dennis Keo, Lorraine GreyBear, Winfield Chaske Sr., Winfield Chaske Jr. and Justin Yankton and all Nathan’s beloved friends and relatives.  If we forgot to name someone, it was not intentional.  Nathan loved you all.  Music will be provided by Ivan Lovejoy Drum Group.
