Oliver Henry Johnson

Oliver Henry Johnson, 2 1/2 year old precious son of Jared and Heather (Schiele) Johnson passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at CHI, St. Alexius Hospital, Devils Lake. Oliver’s family gave the wonderful gift of life to others through organ donation.

Oliver Henry, sweet and spicy, made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails, was born in Devils Lake on October 18, 2017, the son of Jared and Heather (Schiele) Johnson. He was the youngest of the family of 3 boys.

Oliver’s beautiful smile, those big, bright, sparkling blue eyes melted the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He loved the outdoors, riding in the skid steer, playing basketball, fishing, playing fetch with Sadie and his other furry friends. Oliver had many friends at College Care for Kids and loved the staff who cared for him.

This precious life, this precious light in our lives, this precious child of God is gone from our sight, but always in our loving thoughts, grateful hearts and memory. Oh how we love you and miss you sweet son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.

Oliver’s loving family include his parents Jared and Heather; brothers Tristan and Lucas; grandparents Patty Johnson, Dennis and Cindy Schiele; great grandmothers Dorothy Johnson and Charlotte Burt all of Devils Lake; aunts and uncles January and Grant Obenchain, Devils Lake, Heather and Jason Lee, Britton SD, Tyler and Emily Schiele, Crary ND; cousins Ethan and Addison Obenchain, Aiden, Abby and Ailyn Lee, Kynlee, Tucker and Bo Schiele and many great aunts and great uncles.

He was welcomed into heaven by his Lord, his Grandpa Ron Johnson, great grandparents Delbert Johnson, Harry and Betty Abercrombie, Jack and Katherine Schiele and Gary Burt and great aunts Carole Hintz and Joanne Lee.

Casket Bearers for Oliver will be Tyler Schiele, Grant Obenchain, Jason Lee, DJ Fandrich and Kent Pulst.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to come and offer their condolences and to share memories and stories with the family.  Please use your good judgment regarding your health and safety and use of masks.

Funeral Services for family will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Tom Westcott officiating.  Speakers will allow for friends to hear the service in the Church Parking Lot. Friends are invited to the graveside service at the Devils Lake Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20th at 11:15 a.m.  Social distancing practices will be in place.
