Patricia Ann (Maxson) Morell

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Morell, 78 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center. 

Funeral Services for Patsy will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. 

Patricia Ann, daughter of Clifford and Agnes Maxson was born on October 3, 1939 at Devils Lake, ND. She grew up in Devils Lake and graduated from Central High School.  Her adventurous spirit led her to Denver, Colorado in 1961. 

While living and working in Colorado, Patsy met Richard Charles Morell and they fell in love and were united in marriage on April 27, 1962. They established their home in Denver where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years.

Patsy worked for PCA (Packaging Corporation of America) for several years then spent many years with the Denver Branch of the FBI. She later worked in the Colorado Realtor’s Association and retired from Head Electric.  In 1997, Patsy and Richard moved to Devils Lake so that Patsy could care for her aging parents.  After the death of her parents, Patsy’s caring and compassionate heart was put to caring for Richard as his health declined.  Richard died on June 21, 2010.  Patsy continued to call Devils Lake home until her death. 

Patsy loved to sew and cook for her family and dear friends. She believed in always putting your best foot forward and always was beautifully dressed, hair done and a fresh face with a joyful smile.  She loved her family with all her heart and treasured many dear friendships through the years.

Patsy is survived by her children Richard C. Morell Jr of Laramie , Wyoming, Robert Morell of Devils Lake and Suzanne C. Horn and her husband Robert of Yuma, Colorado; grandchildren Joni, Jessica, Michael, twins Edward and John, Martina, Maria, Christine, Robert and Andrew Horn; brothers Richard Maxson, Duane Maxson and Michael Maxson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Richard.
