Patricia "Patty" Anne Burnham

Patricia “Patty” Anne Burnham, 78 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Saturday evening, November 24, 2018 at her home in the loving care of her “family” and Altru Hospice. 

Funeral Services for Patty will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake with Father Paul Schuster officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at the Devils Lake Cemetery.

Patricia Anne was born on February 29, 1940 in Devils Lake, ND to Charles R. and Margaret B. (Walz) Burnham. She was a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church.  She moved from Devils Lake to Grafton, ND. 

In March of 1989, Patty moved to the 506 13^th Avenue residence in Devils Lake and would become a part of the REM family until her death.  She lived for a time at the 1104 15^th Street residence, making many new friends there until her move back to 506.  She was blessed to have the same housemate/roommate for her whole time in Grafton and Devils Lake.

Patty was such a gentle, loving soul. She had a contagious laugh that brought a smile to everyone.  She liked to be teased about being a “leap year” baby and only being 19 years old.  Patty loved soft music, the sounds of nature, mangos and Simba was always held very close to her heart.  Patty responded to being called “Granny” by the staff as another symbol of their affection for her. 

Our dear Patty leaves us with many beautiful memories for us to carry in our hearts.

Patty is survived by the consumers and staff of REM and The Mentor Network.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles.

Casket Bearers for Patty will be Justin DeCoteau, Audrey Reyes, Jim LaForte, Heidee Hill, Latasha Volk and Ernie Hernaez.
