Patrick Michael Charboneau, 74 of Devils Lake ND passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home in Devils Lake surrounded by his loved ones.
Patrick Michael Charboneau was born November 6, 1946 in Devils Lake ND the son of Anthony Michael and Roseann (Baker) Charboneau. He was raised and educated on the Spirit Lake Reservation in Fort Totten ND. Patrick worked several jobs throughout his life time.
Patrick was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Peltier on February 4, 1976 in Rolla ND. Together they raised a beautiful family of 11 children. Patrick worked several jobs throughout his life time. The job he treasured most was that of a loving husband, dad and grandpa to his family. He loved them all with all his heart. Patrick and Mary Ellen always made time for their children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. They had such a strong bond as a family and would do anything for each other because that’s what our family does.
Patrick enjoyed BINGO, casino, spending time with his kids, grandkids, relatives and friends.
We love you and will miss you so very much.
Patrick is survived by his kids Brendon Belgarde Sr., Catherine, Olisa, Lonnie (Kendra), Michael, Chad, Anthony (Samantha), Shannon (Byron), Shauna, Sue Ellen (Steven) and Shaina Charboneau; brothers and sisters Tony Jr. of Fort Totten, Betty St. Clair and Greg Charboneau both of Devils Lake, Lorna Charboneau, Richie (Patlene) Charboneau, Bernie (Pooch), Cindy (Tim) Hawk and Roger Charboneau all of Belcourt ND; in-laws Camilla Smith, Lila Vannett, Brenda Peltier, Patrick Peltier and Andrea DeCoteau; special grandchildren Myia Charboneau, Brendon Belgarde Jr. and many more precious grandchildren and great grandchildren; many dear nieces and nephews and god children Sheila Grace, Andrea, Jessalyn, Antoinette.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Charboneau, his parents Anthony and Roseann, sister Mary Jo (Chuck) Greywater, brothers Sonny Charboneau, Steve Charboneau, Timothy Charboneau; nephews Marvin Charboneau and Lonnie Charboneau, niece Alberta Charboneau, great grandson Prince Blue Dubois and sister-in-law Tootsie Charboneau.
Visitation will be held at 408 Pitcher Park in Devils Lake on Thursday, May 21, 2020 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. A procession will leave from the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. Patrick will be laid to rest in St. Jerome’s Cemetery, Crow Hill ND.
Casket Bearers will be Steven Firemoon Sr., Brendon Belgarde Jr., Conway Charboneau, Gerald Charboneau, Roger Charboneau Jr., Colten Feather, Talon Charboneau, Duwayne Charboneau Sr. and James Charboneau.
Honorary Bearers will be Womdee Belgarde, Earl Landers, Dallas Charboneau, Michael Charboneau Jr., Edward Charboneau, Amanda Charette, Lila Vannett, Orianna OneBear, Brenda Peltier, Camilla Smith, Steve Charboneau, Lonnie Charboneau Jr., Patrick “2Ton” Charboneau, Charlie Kivinioemi, Ginger Rue, Mike Charboneau, Curtis Feather Jr., Byron Littleghost, Kenny Charboneau Jr., Clarence Charboneau, Sharon Larson, Kendra Thompson, Tinisha Charboneau , DJ Charboneau, Reign WolfWalker and Timothy McKay Jr. If we forgot to name anyone, it was not intentional so please forgive us as it is a very difficult time. Special THANK YOU to the Dialysis Staff, Hospice Nurses, and also to his sister Cindy Hawk, Bernie Charboneau and niece Amanda Charette for the Rosary.
