Ralph Nosbusch, 95, a longtime resident of Devils Lake, passed away February 22, 2020 at St Gabriel’s Community in Bismarck ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday February 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27th from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756 and North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ralph’s grandsons Rob Nosbusch, Tom Nosbusch, Kevin Nosbusch, Shawn Summers, Kelly Summers, Travis Lindsey, T. J. Lindsey, Aaron Nosbusch, John Lindsey, Willie Lindsey and Donovan Forde. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters Shannon Summers, Nicole Summers, Katie Lindsey, Amanda Skappel, Casey Nosbusch, Brittany Nosbusch, Carrie Nosbusch and Vanessa Forde; and all of his great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Ramsey County Right to Life, St. Joseph School or the charity of the donors’ choice.
Ralph Nosbusch was born April 28, 1924 in Munich ND to Peter and Mary (Bofenkamp) Nosbusch, and grew up in the Munich community. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific, primarily Iwo Jima, during World War II and returned to North Dakota after the war.
On June 17, 1947 Ralph was united in marriage to Mary Ann Berg and they made their home in Devils Lake where he worked at a variety of jobs, mostly in the farm implement industry, retiring after more than 30 years at Devils Lake Equipment Co. Ralph was a longtime member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, having held leadership positions in both organizations. Ralph and Mary Ann were also ardent supporters of the Ramsey County Right to Life organization for many years.
He is survived by sons Allan (Colleen) of Bismarck, Bradley (Kim) of Warroad MN, and Mark (Carol) of Arlington WA; daughters Carol (Randy) Summers of Park River ND , and Beverly (Mike) Lindsey of Kindred ND; and son-in-law Tyrone Forde of Stuarts Draft VA; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann; a daughter Diane Forde, his parents and siblings.
