Raymond H. Weed, 82 of Minnewaukan, ND passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday morning, October 15, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Devils Lake Hospital.  Funeral Services for Ray will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Lori Broschat officiating.  Ray will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Devils Lake. Raymond was born on October 5, 1935 to Monroe and Vera (Davidson) Weed in Devils Lake, ND.  He graduated from Devils Lake Central in 1954 where he played football and basketball.  He was always proud of the fact that he played against Roger Maris.  After high school, Raymond worked as a farm hand for various farmers. On July 14, 1957, Raymond married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Carol Webster.  Together they had four sons, Daniel, Russell, Dennis and Michael.  They resided on the family farm by rural Minnewaukan, ND where he worked hard his whole life to provide for his family.  Raymond loved keeping busy on the farm, mowing the lawn, and tending to his cattle.  He enjoyed watching football and always looked forward to his morning coffee.  He was a generous man that could be counted on to willingly help his family, friends and neighbors. He was a lifelong learner of farming and was always proud of himself when he could run a new piece of machinery.  Raymond was also a member of the Methodist Church of Devils Lake.  Raymond loved his family.  He was always up for a spontaneous lunch or coffee date and enjoyed attending many of his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities.  Raymond will be dearly missed and remembered for his generosity, his kindness, his witty personality and his contagious smile.  He was so special to us all.  Raymond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; his three sons, Dan (Judy) Weed, of Devils Lake, Dennis (Shelly) Weed of Minnewaukan, ND and Mike (Becky) Weed of Leonard, ND; his sisters Helen Mae Hanson and Dorothy (Glenn) Hodous all of Devils Lake, ND; brother Donald (Ila) Weed, Judd, ND; his grandchildren Brett (Jolie) Johnston, Mathew (Natalie) Weed, Mitch (Jennifer) Weed, Brittany Weed, Riley (Sheena) Weed, Brandi (Ryan) Olson, Amy (Andy) Bachmeier; great grandchildren Peyton, Ashlyn, Marnie, Austin, Minka, Madinko, Cade, Lux, Chloe and Bearitt and his beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and his many dear friends.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Vera; his son Russell; his brother Richard and his brother-in-law Walter Hanson.  Casket Bearers for Raymond will be Mitch Weed, Riley Weed, Brett Johnston, Mathew Weed, Andy Bachmeier and Ryan Olson.  Honorary Pall Bearers will be all of Ray’s Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  Music will be provided by Brenda Bachmeier and Deanna Hanson.
