Richard "Dick" A. Million

Richard “Dick” A. Million, 64 of Starkweather, ND passed away on October 28, 2018 at the Towner County Medical Center, Cando, ND from a complication after a knee surgery.

Richard A. Million was born July 8, 1954 the only son of Bascom and Amelia (Gersham) Million. Bascom Burl Million passed away in 1961, when Dick was only 7 years old.  He lived with his mother on the family farm and attended Starkweather Public School. He graduated from Lake Region Junior College earning a certificate in Auto Mechanics and studied agricultural business management. He cared for his Mom until her passing in 1993. 

Dick grew up, lived, and worked his whole life in Starkweather on the farm his Dad originally worked as a hired hand. He was active in the Lake Region Snowmobile Club and groomed the trails for many years. He was an active sportsman and also was a member of the Prairie Winds and Pioneer Power Association in Hampden.  He had a great interest in restoring, collecting and tinkering with old tractors and other old machinery and engines.  He especially enjoyed going to auction sales in the area, visiting with old friends and always finding new ones.  He was always up to learning new things and helping someone out if needed.  He discovered how helpful his computer was in his farming business and also he so enjoyed Facebook and connecting with friends, neighbors and family through that media.

Dick was preceded in death by parents Bascom and Amelia Million, an older sister who died in infancy, Elsie Ann. He is survived by his cousin Donna Mattox (Million) of Crete, IL, numerous second cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND with Reverend Robert Buechler officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4^th at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
