Robert C Person (Oct 27th, 1948-Dec 26^th 2023) 

Robert C. Person, 75, of Devils Lake ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 26^th 2023 at Eventide Long Term Care home, Devils Lake, ND while surrounded by loved ones.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 starting at 5:30 PM at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND.

Robert C Person was born October 27^th, 1948, in Devils Lake, ND the son of Clifford and Marie (Johnson) Wells. Marie later divorced Clifford and met Myron Person, they married, and eventually Myron officially adopted Robert as his son.

Robert attended school in Devils Lake and graduated Class of 1966. He then went on to continue his education at Lake Region Junior College, majoring in Civil Engineering.

He was united in marriage to Sue McPhail, to this union, their son Michael was born. They later divorced. Robert then met Nita (Markwardt)Hauck and they were married December 3rd, 1976 in Devils Lake, ND. They established their home in Devils Lake, ND with step-son Cory Hauck, then April Person and Matthew Person were born, completing his family. 

Robert worked for various construction companies throughout his life before signing on with National Minerals Corporation (NMC) which later transitioned to LaFarge where he eventually retired as Semi Driver and Terminal Manager. 

Robert was a very hard worker, but in his free time he enjoyed life on The Person Farm in rural Devils Lake, helping care for the family petting zoo, as well as watching football, action movies, Star Trek and fixing up his various car projects as he had a love for mechanic work. Dad loved horsing around with his kids and was always up for teasing or a good joke. Robert was a devoted Christian, sharing/teaching whenever he could, and lived by faith in his walk with the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all. God bless the memory of Robert Person, "Our Daddy". 

Robert C. Person was preceded in death by his parents Clifford, Marie and Myron, grandson Tyler and many other dear relatives.

Robert C. Person is survived by his children Matt (Monique) Person, Devils Lake, April (Bill) Person, Kuna, ID, Mike (Michelle) Person, Sioux Falls, SD and Cory (Carrie) Hauck, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren Elijah Person, Kelsie (Taylor) Owens, Austin Hardy, Zack Hardy and Natalie Eversvik; sisters Beverly Joseph, Las Vegas NV; brother Douglas (Pat) Person, Fargo ND; mother of his children Matt and April, Nita Person; dear half-brothers and half-sisters and many nieces, nephews and their families.
