Ronald Craig, son of Robert and Gladys (Beckstrand) Jacobson was born on September 18, 1950 at Devils Lake, ND. He was reared on the family farm at rural Warwick and attended Warwick Public School, graduating with the class of 1968.  Ronald attended Lake Region Junior College then continued his education at Valley City State Teacher’s College, graduating with a Degree in Education.

Ronald did his student teaching at Hampden then taught at St. Michael’s Mission School until it closed. Ronald was then an instructor at Fort Totten and Warwick before a move to Alaska. He taught for one year at Levelock, Alaska. He returned to North Dakota and taught again at Warwick and Fort Totten.  He retired from Four Winds School after the 2017-2018 school year but was a substitute teacher at the time of his death.

Ronald was an active member of his church and community, serving on the Warwick City Council and the Warwick Lutheran Church Council.

Ronald was at one time married to Denise Kimmerly and they were the proud parents of Heidi, Ryan and Colin.

Ronald’s passion was hunting with his friends and family. He enjoyed hunting ducks, geese, deer, caribou in Alaska, elk in Arizona, moose in Canada and antelope in Wyoming.  He had just returned from a moose hunting trip in Saskatchewan, Canada.  He took such pleasure in teaching the art of hunting to his grandchildren.  He especially treasured their most recent goose and duck hunting adventures.

Ronald loved his children, grandchildren and his family with all his heart. We can’t imagine our life without Ronald, but we treasure each memory of our precious time together.
