Sandra Mae DuMarce, 56 of St. Michael, ND passed to the Spirit World early Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017 at her home, rural St. Michael. Sandra Mae was born on February 15th, 1961 in Devils Lake, ND to Veronica (Thompson) and Levi DuMarce. She was raised on the Spirit Lake Nation and attended school in Fort Totten. She met and married, Perry Ironroad and they had 3 daughters, Jennifer and Geraldine DuMarce and Leslie Ironroad, whom she loved with all her heart. Her favorite pastimes, were spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially the ones she raised, Desmond Cameron, Desiree Cameron and Jenifer Feather. Other pastimes she enjoyed were walking, visiting close friends and family and attending Native American Church ceremonies. When and where ever she visited, friends and family always enjoyed her company, her jokes and laughing with her. She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones. Sandra is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Brandon Feather) DuMarce; grandchildren Wambdi DuMarce, Hunter Thunder, Malik Longie, Jenifer Feather, Gage, Gabrielle, Nathan III, Cethandra and Chance Jones, Karena DuMarce, Desmond and Desiree Cameron, Keveon and Keisha Brown and Princeton Ironroad; great grandson Aiden Cameron; great granddaughter Elizabeth Marie Jo Cameron; sisters Gloria Alberts and Sylvia (Eugene) Hale; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren; special friend Robert “Bushy” Lohnes. She was preceded in death by her parents Veronica and Levi; daughters Jennifer DuMarce and Leslie Ironroad; sister Elaine DuMarce; brothers Leonard DuMarce, Albert Thompson and Richard DuMarce; grandchildren Bryan Thunder and WasteNa Thunder; uncles Zachary Thompson and Ambrose Thompson; aunties Lena Denne and Maryrose FoolBear. The Wake and Prayer Service for Sandra will be held on Wednesday, November 15th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Recreation Center. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Michael Recreation Center with Delbert DuMarce officiating. Sandra will be laid to rest in the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael. Music will be provided by the Native American Church Singers. Active Pallbearers will be Wambdi DuMarce, Desmond Cameron, Brandon Feather, Kevin Brown Sr., Michael IronHawk and Elton DuMarce. Honorary Bearers are all of Sandra’s family and many friends. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional. Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
