Sandra "Sandy" Lee Forsberg (Jacobson), 73, passed away on March 21, 2025, in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Born on May 1, 1951, in Minot, North Dakota, Sandy grew up with a warm and generous spirit that would define her life. She graduated from Minot High School in the class of 1970 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth “Ken” Forsberg, on August 6, 1971. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories over their 53 years of marriage.
While raising their three children, Sandy expressed her creativity through cake decorating from home. Once her children were in school, she and Ken settled in Devils Lake, North Dakota, where she embarked on a fulfilling career as a county clerk at the Ramsey County Courthouse. Over the course of 28 years, she became known for her kindness and diligence, always going the extra mile to help those who came through her office. She ensured that everyone was treated fairly and understood the necessary processes—a testament to her compassionate nature.
In addition to her courthouse work, Sandy spent many years working part-time at The Little Green Store, a beloved neighborhood grocery store and gas station. There, she became a familiar and welcoming face to the community—offering friendship and warmth to local children and residents alike.
Above all else, Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to support her children's sports and activities—driving them across the state for games and tirelessly helping raise funds to ensure they could pursue their passions. This devotion extended to her grandchildren as well; she took immense joy in watching them compete in their activities and sports events.
Sandy had an infectious social spirit and was always there for those who needed her. She loved gathering with friends for games of bowling or darts and was an enthusiastic participant in dice games and card nights. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes—always keeping a watchful eye on everyone’s cards—and she had a special fondness for her lucky trolls that accompanied her during bingo nights. Traveling also brought her great joy; one of her most memorable adventures was a European trip with her son where they visited six countries—culminating in an unforgettable moment when she saw the Eiffel Tower light up before her eyes. Summers were often spent at Lake Metigoshe at her sister and brother-in-law’s cabin—creating treasured memories by the water and around bonfires with family.
In later years, Sandy embraced the snowbird lifestyle with Ken in Lake Havasu, Arizona. She relished four-wheeling through the scenic hills with friends and visiting the friendly free-ranging donkeys in Oatman. On the golf course, she happily served as both driver and scorekeeper—always enjoying time spent outdoors with loved ones.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband Kenneth “Ken” Forsberg; her children Lisa Skari (Travis Skari), Lance Forsberg (Saraye Forsberg), and Lucas Forsberg (Robert Conner II); her siblings Betty Olson (Duane Olson), Randy Jacobson (Julie Jacobson), and Bonnie Pearce (Greg Pearce); as well as her cherished grandchildren Calli Forsberg, Taylor Skari, Brody Forsberg, Ian Skari, and Averie Skari. She was preceded in death by her parents Willard "Willy" and Verna Jacobson; infant brothers Jerome and Russel Jacobson; brother Bruce Jacobson; nephew Jared Jacobson; and great-nephew Wyatt Heinle.
Sandy’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched countless lives. Her legacy of warmth will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
