Sarah “Sadie” Brown, was born on July 2, 1950 in Southern Ohio, to parents Ernest and Betty (Hutchison) Wyatt. Sarah graduated from High School at Jackson, Ohio in 1969. She then moved to South St. Paul area to be with her family. Sarah and David met while working at Payless Cashway Lumber in April of 1971. Sarah and David were married on November 25, 1971 at her parents’ home. They were blessed with 3 daughters Grace, Taya and Alycia. In April of 1979 they moved to Devils Lake, ND. Sarah received her LPN Training at Lake Region College and later her RN Degree at St. Mary’s College in Bismarck, ND. She was a dedicated employee of Mercy Hospital for 32 ½ years. She enjoyed her years as Evening Coordinator and work in the ER at Mercy Hospital. Sarah spent 14 years as the nurse at the jail at the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center. As a nurse, Sarah worked closely with the Lion’s Eye Bank of North Dakota for many years. Cancer forced early retirement in the spring of 2017. Sarah passed on July 10, 2017 from a yearlong battle with cancer. Sarah loved attending flea markets and auction sales and had a variety of collections, large and small. She made many friends in her travels. Sarah is survived by her loving family. Her husband Dave of 45 years; daughters Grace Brown (companion of the late Kevin Beaver), Rolette, ND; Taya Brown, Devils Lake and Alycia and her husband Sam Hoffart of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Alexandria and Jess Woeste, Mandan, ND, Heather Brown, Devils Lake, Everett, Clayton and Joel Brown, Rolette, ND and Sadie Hoffart, Sioux Falls, SD; step grandchildren Ashley Eurich, Minneapolis and Logan Beaver, Tampa, FL; brother and sister Jack (Cheryl) Wyatt, Pipestone, MN and Arnetta Wyatt (Matt Emerfoll) Hatfield, MN; mother-in-law Betty Brown, Windom, MN; sisters-in-law Judy (Harlan) Berger, North Mankato, MN, Jeanne (Dick) Emery, Hayfield, MN and Bonnie (Bruce) Caldwell, Wilder, MN; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Betty; brother Ernest Wyatt Jr; father-in-law Everett Brown and son-in-law Kevin Beaver. An Open House will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a service at 3:00 p.m. and ongoing fellowship at the Pavilion at Roosevelt Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Altru Hospice, Devils Lake, ND.
