Shawn Duane Guy

Shawn Duane Guy, 51 of Crary formerly of the Spirit Lake Nation, ND passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. 
A Wake will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Michael's Wellness Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave from City Plaza, Devils Lake on Friday at 5:00 p.m. 

Funeral Services for Shawn will be on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. Michael's Wellness Center at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Young officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date.

              Shawn Duane Guy, 51 of Spirit Lake, ND started his journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024. 

      Shawn Duane Guy (AKA Pumpkin Head) was born October 31st, 1972 at Devils Lake, the son of Clarence “Duane” Guy and Elgie Ann Eagleman. 

      Shawn grew up out in Tokio where he enjoyed fishing, playing football and basketball. He later graduated from Four Winds High School in 1992 and went on to pursue his Associates Degree at South Western Indian Polytechnic Institute. Shawn enjoyed working as a blackjack dealer at various casinos. In 2017 he attended the Molar Barber College in Fargo where he graduated and received his cosmetology license. Soon after, he returned to Devils Lake, ND and opened up his own Barbershop. During this time, he ran for council on the Spirit Lake Tribe, participating in charity work because he had love for his people. 

      Shawn loved to joke around with friends and family, he had a caring personality and was always kind hearted. He will be remembered for his generosity, caring heart, and love for all his people. Shawn loved to travel and had a love for his truck and had a pride and joy for his barbershop. 

      Shawns loving family include his mother Elgie Eagleman, Shawn’s children are; LaShawnda Kenner (Jesse Kenner), Diamonique Jacobson, Thaine Thunderhawk, Gabe Guy (Akipa Guy), Alisha Guy, and Shay Guy, grandchildren, Kylar Fassett, Wyatt Kenner, Morgan Kenner, Saiciye Akipa, and Pebduna Akipa. His siblings; John Guy, Melody Eagleman, Beverly Eagleman, Matthew Eagleman, Kenneth Eagleman, Shelby Dubois, Three Feathers Morin, Lisa Guy, Mandy Guy, Michelynn Guy, and step siblings; Suna Guy and Neva Whiteshield, and Step Mother Elaine Guy. 

      He is joined in the Spirit World with his Creator, his Father Duane Guy, siblings Christopher Littleghost, Todd Yankton, Ramone Demarce, Uncle Chuck Redday, and Auntie Shelley Guy, cousins Brandi Guy-Stewart, Courtney Lara, and Lee Lenoir Jr.
