Sheila was a strong, loving and faith-filled person. She was the 4th out of 9 children born to William and Aurelie (Moore) Jerome on February 17, 1945 in Devils Lake, ND.  She resided her entire childhood in Devils Lake, graduating from Devils Lake Central High School in 1963. During High School she helped with her younger siblings and worked as a lifeguard. She enjoyed ice skating, dancing and playing the tenor drum. Her children proudly boast she was the 1962 Homecoming queen!

Sheila married Leslie (Les) Hannesson on June 8, 1967. They moved to Marshalltown, IA where their four children were born and raised.  They were together for nearly 45 years and Les died January 8, 2012. Les worked at Fisher Controls his entire career and Sheila was the consummate homemaker and mother. She carried on her mother’s tradition of keeping a tight ship at home with chores, rules and prayer with devotion to her church.  Her children say she was fair and balanced and loved them equivocally. Sheila’s home was always welcoming, fun and full of life where friends and family gathered.  Sheila was a wonderful cook and is famously known for her homemade bread and granola.  Sheila loved the sound of laughter and brought joy and comfort to everyone she touched and never turned down a cold beer!

Sheila is survived by her children, Leslie Fisher of Dickinson, ND; Michelle (Jon) Kaiser of Garrison, IA, Vince (Margie) Hannesson of Audubon, MN and Peter Hannesson of Port Washington, NY and her beloved grandchildren, Morgan (Michka) Tosan, Ryan (Kayla) Fisher, Hannah Fisher, Nicholas Fisher, William Hannesson, Peter Hannesson, Avery Hannesson, Elijah Kaiser, Noah Kaiser, Aiden Hannesson, and Oliver Hannesson. Sheila is preceded in death by her husband Les Hannesson, her parents Aurelie and Bill Jerome, brothers Billy and Paul Jerome and in-laws Vic and Dora Hannesson.
