She was a baptized member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Sophia’s favorite hobbies were drawing, painting, reading, playing outdoors, listening to music and spending time with the family. She loved when it came to holidays and summer because that meant that she would be spending time with family from out-of-town. During the summer months she would either be swimming, fishing, traveling, camping in the yard, climbing trees. Fall months was basically just being outdoors playing in the trees, fallen leaves or helping decorate for the holidays. Winter months were spent either indoors with reading, playing on the computer, video games and when outside it was sledding, building snow forts, coloring the snow with different food color water, or practicing her snowboarding. Her favorite subject in school was Art, she loved learning the different ways to draw and paint. She loved showing family and friends her artwork or talking about what she learned in art. The music she listened to varied from rock and roll to kids’ songs. She would either be caught dancing or singing along and when going on road trips she was the one in charge picking the songs. She loved learning to play the piano and guitar. Sophia was such an independant and driven little girl. She was teaching herself how to speak in Dakota and Japanese. When it came to something she wanted to do, her mind was set and she was going to do things one way or another. She was in Tae Kwon Do during a period of time and was planning on joining gymnastics. Her big heart, smile, infectious laugh brought light to any room. She had a unique personality that made her stand out in an extraordinary way.
