Terry M. Spidahl

Terry M. Spidahl, 41 of Devils Lake ND passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the River of Life, Assembly of God Church, Devils Lake will be limited to immediate family and close friends.  All gatherings will require social distancing and family requests you keep your health and safety as a priority and ask for your prayers at this difficult time.  God Bless You All.

Terry Myron Spidahl was born in Devils Lake ND on June 5, 1978 to Larry Spidahl and Donna (Stapleton) Spidahl/Bogunovich. Terry moved with his brother, Jesse, mother Donna and step-father Jay Bogunovich to Custer, Montana where he went to school, helped with taking care of the cows, helped with the haying and he loved roaming through the hills with his brother and sister especially swimming in the ditch until he was 11.  He then decided he wanted to live on the farm with his dad and step-mom Pam Spidahl.   

Terry loved the farm and all the animals, especially the horses. As he got older, he started working with his Dad doing underground sprinker systems for the company, Harrison Sales and Service. Terry was a natural and picked it up quickly.  For 17 years he worked side by side with his Dad.  Through the years, Terry was blessed with 2 sons, Dyson Slaubaugh (Becky Slaubaugh-Barberg) and a couple of years later Terran Anderson (Heidi Anderson).  His boys were always the most important thing in his life and they both are spitting images of their Dad. 

Terry was an avid and successful fisherman; he loved it like air itself. It didn’t matter what season it was, he never tired of the hobby.  During winter, he loved snowmobiling so much that he bought and fixed up sleds for both him and his 2 boys to enjoy together.  Many miles were put on jumping snow banks and racing down the trails. 

In 2019, Terry was offered a job of a lifetime with Dakota Dry Bean at Crary ND. He worked there just short of his passing on June 3, 2020. 

Terry is survived by his sons Dyson Slaubaugh and Terran Anderson; grandmother Brydia Spidahl; grandparents Darlene and Roger Berge; father Larry (Pam) Spidahl, Devils Lake ND; mother Donna Bogunovich (Jay), Custer MT; brother Jesse Spidahl, Fromberg MT; sister Tasha Bogunovich (Dustin Vuckovic)Billing MT; step-brother Aaron (Jenny) Skinner, Parker SD; special friend Elita Y; aunts and uncles Barb Meer, Wayne (Shaun) Spidahl, Bob Markiewicz, Peggy Ripplinger, Joyce (Mike) Semec, Jerry Berge, Steve (Cheri) Berge; his nieces and nephews Taycee and Tate Spidahl, Allison and Jordyn Skinner, Quentin Maxwell and Easton Vuckiovic and many other great aunts, great uncles and close cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Carroll Spidahl, great grandparents Clarence and Clara Overby, uncle Tommy Berge and many other great uncles and great aunts.
