Tiffiny Nicole McKay

Tiffiny N. McKay, "Hoota Ska Winyan" (White Bear Cub Woman) 32 of Fort Totten, ND our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Granddaughter and Friend passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

The Wake for Tiffiny will held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Fort Totten Wellness Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND with Father Joseph Christianson and Father Charles Leute OP concelebrating the Mass. Tiffiny will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. 

Tiffiny McKay was born on July 28, 1987 to Emrolyn Kae WhiteTail and Robert Allen “Socks” McKay. Tiffiny had a difficult life but still loved life. She had many struggles but still always had a smile.  She had a tender heart and loved her children with that beautiful heart.  Given her circumstances she couldn’t always help or give them all she desired but she wanted the very best for them and was so very proud of them.  She liked to cook and bake; she was known for her fry bread and squaw dogs. She also loved to sew.  She was always thankful for any help and act of kindness.  

Tiffiny leaves behind her children: Kelin McKay, DorothyKay DuBois, Callee DuBoix, Calvin DuBois Jr., Christopher McKay, Katelynn McKay and Ruth Johnson; grandchild Jeremiah James DuBois; sisters Radell M. WhiteTail, Fort Totten, Ashley N. McKay (Kyle), also Fort Totten, LaTasha D. McKay (Kyle), Fremont, NE, Nevada L. McKay, Bismarck, Bridget R. WhiteTail Johnson, Vancouver, WA, Cheyenne S. She was preceded to the Spirit World by her daughter Beautiful Horizon Rainbow; parents Emrolyn and Robert, grandparents Dorothy Dunn WhiteTail, Byron WhiteTail, Jesse McKay Sr. and Angeline McKay; aunts and uncles Felicia Reed, Claudette WhiteTail Williams, Dana WhiteTail, Carmen Reed, Gerald Whiteman, Jerome “Sonny” McKay, Jesse McKay Jr., Patrick McKay, Rodney McKay, Georgeline “Cissy” McKay and Barbara McKay; nephew De’Vantae Jay Sampson; cousins Lenny RedTomahawk, Darrick RedTomahawk, Jamie Rose Jetty, Jannica Rae WhiteTail, Byron Wayne WhiteTail Williams and DaNielle Crystal Lawrence.

Casket Bearers will be Christopher DuBois, Tyren DuBois, Calvin DuBois Jr., Kelin McKay, Dantae J. WhiteTail, Ryan Herman Sr., Robert His Chase, Chanze Herman, Quentin Bruce Whiteman and Murray McKay.

Honorary Bearers will be LaToya WhiteTail, Calvin DuBois, Ted “Teddy” Snell Jr., Geddy DuBois, Myron SpottedHorse, Anissa Delorme and many cousins and friend too numerous to mention.    

In knowing Tiffiny, she would be grateful for kindness to her children and prayers for her soul.  We entrust her to the All Merciful Heart of our Lord who loves her so very much.  May she Rest In Peace.
