Veoria B. Rauscher, 68 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Trinity Medical Center, Minot, ND.
Veoria Beatrice, daughter of Robert and Nettie Bell (Skelton) Kessler was born on September 24, 1951 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She grew up and was educated in Idaho, eventually living in Fruitland, Idaho a border town with Ontario, Oregon. It was at a dance in Ontario that Veoria met Gene Rauscher. They were united in marriage on July 20, 1969, saying their “I dos” at the same time Neil Armstrong was stepping onto the moon.
They lived in several different locations, mostly along the West Coast while Gene served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Veoria dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother to their 3 children.
After a near fatal car accident, Veoria needed the more constant care of family so in 2009, she and Gene moved to North Dakota and called it home. Veoria had many talents including drawing and painting ceramics.
Veoria was so delighted and felt so very blessed to have celebrated 50 years of love and marriage to Gene in July. Being close to her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. The time spent with family was so precious and treasured by Veoria. She loved being a grandma.
Veoria’s loving family include her husband Gene; daughters Tammy (Joe) Heiser, Devils Lake and Patty (Steve) May of Bismarck, ND; eight grandchildren Nick (Crystal) Hyde, Brad Rauscher, Toby (Ashleigh) Rauscher; Michael (Corrine) Johnson, Kody Johnson, Blake (Mikayla) Johnson, Terra Vanderhoof, Alicia Rauscher, Joey and Marcus Heiser; 21 great grandchildren; sister Sherry (Dale) Wade, Fruitland, ID; brothers George Kessler also of Fruitland, David Kessler and Fred Kessler both of Sacramento, CA and John (Rita) Kessler, Independence, MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gene Kessler Rauscher and brothers Bob, Marion, Earl, and Tony Kessler.
