Wade O Christianson

Wade Christianson, 62 of Devils Lake ND passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital.

Wade Owen Christianson, son of William and Joyce (Hoyt) Christianson was born on February 23, 1958 at Devils Lake ND. He grew up and was educated in Lakota ND, graduating from Lakota High School with the class of 1976. Wade made his home in the Lake Region area and worked as a floor covering installer, a trade he learned from his Dad.  He worked for many years at LaMotte’s and later was the owner and operator of his own business.  

Wade was united in marriage to Marlene Rham in 1986 and they established their home in Devils Lake where they raised their family through the years. For the past 10 years, Wade battled several health issues which forced him into retirement.

Wade enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing or just hopping into the car for a drive around the countryside or off on a family trip to see relatives and friends. He was definitely a “people person” who loved to visit and would strike up a conversation with friends, neighbors and strangers.  In the early years he enjoyed playing cards and participated in league bowling. 

Wade was a man of deep faith and was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He was all about family and loved and adored his children and grandchildren, they were his world.  And every chance he could, you would find Wade at one end of a fishing pole. 

Wade is survived by his loving family. His wife Marlene; son Justin Christianson, Devils Lake; grandson Liam; son-in-law Charles E. Blue; siblings Gay (Lanette) Christianson, Austin MN, Paul (Dorothy) Christianson, Lisbon ND, Cindy Woolridge, Bismarck ND; mother-in-law Florence Rham; brother-in-law Mike Didas, Florida; sister-in-law Cindy Rham, Wahpeton ND and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Julie, grandsons Kentin Charles and Koltin Owen, sister Lynn Didas, father-in-law Lynn Rham and brother-in-law David Rham.

Funeral Services are pending for Wade on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Please check www.gilbertsonfuneralhome.com for details.
