Billy Foote

Willam Joseph Foote “Billy”, son of Adrian Foote and Marlis Johnson was born on February 11, 1978 in Devils Lake, ND. He grew up in Fort Totten and Webster, ND with his special foster parents Ron and Berta Soper. He attended elementary school in Starkweather and graduated from Four Winds High School with the class of 2000.

Billy worked at various jobs and most recently at the Spirit Lake Casino where he worked special events and also as a bartender.

Billy life was his kids and grandkids. They were the light of his life, his pride and joy. They were his world.

In Billy’s free time, he loved playing basketball and watching sports. He was a great fan of the Michigan Wolverines basketball and football teams. He loved being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of Mother Earth. He was frequently seen out walking and hanging out with his friends whenever he could. When possible, he would head to the lake and go fishing, a hobby he truly enjoyed.

Our hearts ache with such sadness at the loss of our precious son, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend. Billy will be forever loved, forever missed, forever in our hearts.

Billy’s loving family include his children Braylon Foote, Sheldon Foote, Brylie Foote; his father Adrian Foote; mother of his children Hope GoodShield; grandson Carl Estes Jr.; siblings Toni Johnson, Courtney (Frank) BlackCloud, Colleen Anderson (Joseph Thumb Jr.), Ashley Anderson (Napoleon) Fournier, Brittany Foote, Brianna Foote, Chelsea Foote and Shauntee Nordwall; uncles Roland Johnson, Roger Feather and Tom Lee; aunts Janice Feather and Renita (Dallas) Delorme; special nephew Elijah Anderson, nieces and nephews Jadeisha Blackbird, Eliza Cavanaugh, Olivia Cavanaugh, Aryonna Johnson, Ezra Johnson, Amaris Johnson, Casandra Johnson, Alayna Johnson, Andre Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Alec McWhitney, Bryce McWhitney, Avery BlackCloud, Noah Fournier, Joseph Thumb, Jeremiah Thumb, Paul Wolters, Jerome Elk, Nick Elk, Nathan Smith, Brighten Foote, Adria Foote, Memphis Walking Elk, Gracee Jo Foote, BritLei Walking Elk, Tripp Foote, Ellery Nordwall and Emmq Nordwall; special cousins Bonnie Birdsbill, Emmy Cavanaugh, Nikya Elk; many dear cousins.

Billy is reunited in the Spirit World with his mother Marlis Johnson (Bill) Anderson, nieces and nephews Lakeisha Guy, Andrew Chaske, Suri Fournier and Alec Fournier, aunts and uncle Marlene Pederson Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Chris and Evoyn Johnson, cousin Elizabeth Guy.

Pallbearers will be: Joseph Thumb, Jeremiah Thumb, Sheldon Foote, Braylon Foote, Nick Elk, Jerome Elk, Lydell Jones, Bennett Blackbird, Frank BlackCloud.

William "Billy" J. Foote of Fort Totten ND began his journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was 46 years of age. 

A Wake will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Fort Totten Wellness Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4:)0 p.m. on Thursday from City Plaza. 
Funeral Services for Billy will be on Friday, June 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Totten Wellness Center with burial to follow in St. Jerome's Cemetery.
