Zelma Ida Paul "Sally", 67 of the Fargo/Moorhead area passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Essentia Health surrounded by her loving family.

Zelma Ida Paul was born on April 10, 1956 in Devils Lake ND the daughter of Etta Redfox. She was raised by her grandparents Gertrude (RedCrow) and Archie Redfox Sr. She grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation and attended school there. She continued her education at Job Corp in Portland, Oregon. While living on the Spirit Lake Nation, Sally worked at Dakota Tribal Industries.

Eventually Sally moved to the Fargo/Moorhead area and called that area home for many years where she lived, worked and raised her family.

First and foremost, Sally was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved hanging out with her grandchildren. She loved spending time at the local park and being outdoors enjoying the beauty of mother earth. She always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Sally’s loving family who grieve her passing include her children Michelle McDonald, Loren Longie, Kenny Greywater, Wayne Greywater and Emery Greywater; grandchildren Trevor McDonald, Miguel McDonald, Tamika Garcia, Isaiah Garcia, Lacy McDonald, Heaven McDonald, Jakobe McDonald and Malaija Lamar: Carmelo Michael Longie, Cuttino Longie, Lauren Starr Longie, Loretta Mae Longie and Maricio Longie: Keshaun Feather: Fiery Greywater; aunts Sharon Georgeson, Geraldine Redfox, and Alberta Redfox; uncle Louis Garcia; special friend Tim Butcher and many precious nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by his mother Etta, grandparents Archie and Gertrude, grandsons Trevor McDonald and Michael A. Meade, brothers Melvin “Gene” Paul and Jimmy Paul, sisters Louella Redfox, Bernice Paul, Karen Paul and Doris Paul, nephews Mahlen “Mash” Redfox, Randy Tikanye, Johnnie Tikanye, Tommy Tikanye, Clint Georgeson, Mark Lufkins Sr., Archie Adam Redfox, Cleveland “CJ” Ironheart, and Jeremy Redfox, nieces Jolene Littlewind, Michelle “Pretty Girl” Redfox and Klo Redfox, aunts JoAnn Redfox, Annie Redfox, Hilda Garcia, Elizabeth Kay Redfox, Mariam “CoCo” Redfox and Karen Redfox, uncles Archie Redfox Jr., Francis Tikanye, LeRoy Redfox, Robert Redfox and Alvin Georgeson and many other relatives who she dearly loved but too numerous to name.

There will be a visitation at the Bdecan Presbyterian Church, rural Tokio ND on Saturday, December 2, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 noon with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The feed and give-away will be at the Woodlake Wellness Center, Tokio ND following the burial.

The procession to Bdecan Church will leave at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from the City Plaza, Devils Lake.
