Barbara Walden

Barbara Walden, 90 of Devils Lake passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on January 21^st, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital. 

Barbara was well-known in the Devils Lake community for her charming sense of humor, her hard work, her unconditional love for family and friends, and her feisty spirit and strong will. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her son Richard Knaus, husbands Carl Marcus Knaus, Palmer Walden, parents Matthew and Norah (Williams) Maier, four sisters Esther Bymers, Alice Stenberg, La Vern Larson and Donna Hagen and niece Debra Carlson and Debra’s husband John.

She is survived by her daughter Judith Doty (spouse Patrick) and son Paul Knaus (spouse Terri), both of the San Antonio, Texas area, as well as five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Barbara is now in the loving presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara’s family wishes to personally recognize her best friends Vern Moen and Marcia Ulrich for their love, support and help for Barb for many years preceding her passing, and during the days afterwards.  Their efforts have been vastly above and beyond what anyone could expect.
